Stan Socha founded Identical Construction Company in 1977. Stan saw the lack of a teaching tool in the construction industry and worked with investors to found Identical Construction Company. Below is an overview of Stan's original vision. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

An Identical Building Kit can start you down the road to building your own home or that cabin you always dreamed about. It can be the beginning point from which you could plan and design the kind of home or cabin YOU want.

Anybody can construct an Identical Building Kit. It is an inexpensive and useful way to pass hours and hours of your leisure time.

AUTHENTIC ¾ SCALE MODELS
Identical Building Kits are ¾ inch scale models that authentically duplicate real wood frame structures. At home, in a workshop, or in a classroom, you can learn about the world of construction.

An Identical Building Kit can be completed without any prior knowledge of wood frame construction. All wall framing can be done right on the working drawings provided and the instructions have been written in short, simple language.

MATERIAL INCLUDED
The ¾” scale lumber is high quality balsa which is cut to a tolerance of thousandths of an inch. Standard dimensions of 2 x 4, 1 x 6, 2 x 6, 2 x 8, 4 x 4, etc., lumber is provided, the same as would be called for by a building contractor.

The 2 x 4 stud lumber is precut to the length used. All other lumber comes in standard lengths, the same as it would come from a lumberyard.

In addition the kits contain:
1) ¾ scale working drawings,
2) Easy to follow instructions,
3) Custom designed miter jig,
4) Cutting tools,
5) Tape measure,
6) Nails,
7) Layout pencil,
8) A work base which doubles as a display when a kit is completed.

WORKING DRAWINGS MAKE IT EASY
A complete set of working drawings and easy to read instructions are provided in each kit.

You will see how each piece of lumber serves a particular purpose in the wall frame. You will learn to understand a floor plan, frame according to building codes and much more.

WORK IN PROGRESS
Identical Building Kits are a “learn by doing” project. You will get a step-by-step detailed picture of house framing, and, at the same time, will see the complete overall picture of your efforts when the model is completed.

You get the actual experience of doing wood frame construction while sitting at a table.

In a short time, you will be able to identify each piece of lumber by name, and in time, you will find that you know what to do without consulting the instructions.
